A Museum Piece

Haifa Museum Of Art, 2012

I wanted to take a bite from a museum. The work, which took place at the Haifa Museum of Art, deals with the relationship between the artist and the art institution, relations that also involve passion. I asked about the passion for leaving a mark when artworks are usually placed and returned to storage without a trace. I wanted to compare forces. I wanted to scar the museum, take a piece from it, and transform this scar into a work of art.

For the exhibition of Zoom 2019 – Young Israeli Artists Prize nomination, I created another version of the work. The live performance was documented and exhibited during the show, next to the physical scar I left from the bite. The work has become an idea: Instead of inviting an artist to present an artwork, I was invited to take a bite. Under this concept, the work traveled between different venues.
